Mission Statement
The purpose of the Central Georgia Advertising Federation
is to provide and promote a better understanding of the functions
of advertising and of its values; to apply the skills, creativity,
and energy of the advertising industry to advance the standards
of advertising; to support voluntary self-regulation; and to promote
good fellowship and a free exchange of ideas.
Nature of Business
Trade association of the advertising industry. Membership
dues are the major source of income. Activities include breakfast
and luncheon programs and educational seminars featuring speakers
on the many diverse topics in advertising.
Affiliation
The Central Georgia Advertising Federation is affiliated
with the American Advertising Federation (AAF) - the only national
organization which represents all segments of the advertising industry
through a national network of professionals from over 220 advertising
clubs and federations. Membership sections include: corporate membership,
including some 145 major corporations; an inter-association council,
involving over 23 related trade groups; and an academic segment,
made up of professors and students from over 220 colleges and universities
with advertising curricula. Collectively, AAF represents over 52,000
advertising professionals joined together to achieve a common purpose
- to promote, protect, and defend advertising interests.
Established in 1904 by local advertising executives.
Incorporated non-profit organization operated by six executive
officers and sixteen to twenty other board members/directors. Directors
are either connected with a business affiliated with advertising,
in public relations, or at a university that teaches advertising. |
